Children's

Please find below a list of options suitable for children's events, parties and promotions.

In order to recommend the most effective combination please provide information as to:

• How many children
• Approximate age range
• Timings of event
• Length of coverage required
• Party theming
• Location/Venue
• Approximate budget

Some recommended party themes include Pirates, Football, Fairies.; We recommend scheduling a separate activity for every 10/20 mins for the duration of the event.

Stilt walkers

Meet and greet/mix and mingle

The Land of Sweets

Lovely bright and colourful stilt troupe (up to 4 available) with performers giving out sweets

More stilt walkers can be provided for larger events.; Please see stilt page for full range.

Balloon modelling

It is nice for the children to be able to take a balloon model home with them.

The modellers can also perform balloon modelling on stilts if required.

They can usually make around 25 models per hour to work out how many modellers will be required.

Face Painting

Hatstand Circus recommends the best painters in the business who actually train other people and run their own school.

10/12 faces per hour per painter

Face Painting is suitable for all ages of children.

For older children and teenagers the artist recommends the following:

For girls, the painter stresses the ‘makeover’ side of things, the painter brings along a whole range of make-up for young skin - glittery stuff – lipgloss, shimmer, eye shadow etc.; The girls can have little things painted on their cheeks and hands and then have make-up too. Very popular.

For boys, the artist does special effects cuts and wounds. The children go crazy for this - really gory film make-up - cuts, bruises, bullet holes etc.; Note: it is a bit sticky and doesn’t dry like face paints.

Children’s Show

Hatstand Circus recommends specialist childrens entertainers with a huge amount of experience.; The shows include Music, Magic, Puppets, Games, Karaoki and Dancing.; Extras can be provided such as bouncy castle, party bags, decor, giant games, special effect machines (smoke, bubbles, confetti).; The actual shows can last one hour or two but other activities can be provided to fill more time if required.

Circus skills play session

Roped off area with plates, ribbons, bean bags and supervisor in costume - the workshops can be drop in or structured workshops every half hour.; 15 children per workshop per supervisor.; The workshops can include elementary gymnastics and pair balancing if required with specialist teacher.

Dressing up box

Feather boas, hats, masks etc with supervisor

Animal mimicry play session

Mime workshop with aspects of children's yoga - specialist physical theatre/contemporary mime teacher

Children's Mobile Mini Gym

Plastic covered foam objects to climb over and through - very popular

Giant Garden Games

Ludo, snakes and ladders etc

Bubble Artist

Giant bubbles show - interaction - children can stand in the giant bubbles - approximately 45min show.

Costume Character

Actor/Performer in specialist theatrical costume, for example - Willy Wonka or another character from children’s literature or film.

Contemporary Clown

With specialist contemporary clown/mime techniques - lovely costumes and silly props - interactive

Storytellers

Specialist actor/theatrical performer reading from book in a Jackanory style.
